San Francisco 49ers: John Lynch has provided organizational stability

Still riding their post-Harbaugh hangover, many thought the 49ers were insane to hire John Lynch as their general manager. With no experience in the front office, the organization was ridiculed but fast forward almost a year later and it’s a completely different story. Now, Lynch is praised for taking the 49ers and doing a complete 180.

Lynch’s brilliance started in the 2017 NFL draft. The 49ers traded back one pick and still selected the player they were targeting in the first place. In return, they received three picks in the process. It didn’t stop there and Lynch went out to grab the steal of the century in Jimmy Garoppolo for just a second round pick. Whether it was spiteful trade by Bill Belichick or not, Lynch found his franchise quarterback for pennies on the dollar.

Entering the offseason, the Niners have all the momentum after finishing the season 5-0. They are set to sign Garoppolo to a long-term extension and still have a plethora of cap room to spend in the process. How much better does it get than that? A division run by the Seahawks is now dominated by two young, up and coming organizations. The Niners will be enticing free agent location for some of the league’s top talent as they offer promise and potential Super Bowl titles in the process.

Kyle Shanahan had the Falcons just one game away from a Super Bowl win as an offensive coordinator and now has the chance to do that as a head coach. He can enter the 2018 season with high aspirations knowing the front office is secure with Lynch in charge.,
