2. Dion Lewis

This move only happens for one reason, and it has to do with dollar bills heading in the general vicinity of Le’Veon Bell this offseason.

Bell hasn’t been hiding his frustration with his free agency situation so far this offseason, with the Steelers frustrating the star running back with the inability to make a deal. Other teams will surely start courting one third of the Killer B’s as the anger builds over the next few months, and the Steelers might find themselves out of the hunt for good if they wait too long.

If that’s the case, and Bell ends up finding a new home with a lot of money in 2018, the Steelers have a few other options for their backfield. The best fit that comes to mind? Dion Lewis of the New England Patriots.

Although he’s had some trouble staying healthy over the last few seasons in Foxboro, Lewis has been a star of a rotating backfield behind Tom Brady. He’s an incredible receiving back, and there have been many comparisons in the past to Bell in terms of the ability to stop and go in an instant. The cuts and moves the two backs make are nearly identical, and it’d almost be as if Bell never left.

Lewis could make things easy for the Steelers as far as their game plan is concerned. He’s a cheaper version of Bell in the long run, like if you bought store-brand paper towels at Walmart because they get the job done the same way as the Bounty brand.

That’s all the Steelers need, as Lewis would provide enough of a threat for the team to work in play-action, and get Antonio Brown moving in the passing game.
