The 2018 30-team NBA mega-trade that solves nothing and makes everyone mad

Sacramento Kings
Sending out: George Hill (CLE), Kosta Koufos (CHA)
Bringing in: Marcin Gortat (WAS), J.R. Smith (CLE), Cedi Osman (CLE), 2020 first-round pick (OKC)
This is one is, admittedly, a stretch. The Kings are clearly looking for move George Hill and net some sort of assets, rather than letting him just wallow away on their young roster. This deal probably isn’t the return they had in mind but it gives them something. This deal adds salary, slightly — the last year of Hill and Smith’s contracts are only partially guaranteed, Smith’s for slightly more. But it’s not a huge financial investment.
Gortat and Smith aren’t of much use to Sacramento but, then again, neither are Hill or Koufos. They can do the wallowing or perhaps be flipped for other assets as their deals move closer to expiring. Osman is an interesting young piece with some versatility and adds needed depth on the wing. Sacramento also picks up a future pick from Oklahoma City who could be imploding two years from now, especially if Paul George leaves this summer.
