One player on each NHL team that should be traded
The Edmonton Oilers have been the most disappointing team in the league this season. It’s almost like they got an insane season from Cam Talbot and thought that was sustainable.
Here’s what we know about the Oilers front office. When things are going great, everyone wants play in Edmonton and alongside Connor McDavid. But when things are going bad, they have to trade a former number one overall pick.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, come on down. You’re the next contestant on “What’s Your Value?”
Nugent-Hopkins currently out of action with a rib injury, but that won’t stop the Oilers from testing the market. The problem with trading Nugent-Hopkins, besides the fact that he’s a good player and the Oilers should stop trading good players, is that you know the Oilers are going to screw this up.
Look at their history of trading top picks. They’ve lost every deal. Ryan Strome was a downgrade from Jordan Eberle. Adam Larsson is a good fit because they needed defense, but Taylor Hall is a better player and the Oilers should have gotten more for him. I can’t blame them for the Nail Yakupov deal, but even he’s doing well in Colorado this season.

The Oilers are going to trade Nugent-Hopkins for Victor Rask. Don’t laugh at that suggestion. Remember who we’re talking about here.
Edmonton does not need to move Nugent-Hopkins. They should not move Nugent-Hokins. They should build around their offensive stars. That’s what they should do. But they are going to trade him because Oilers gotta Oilers.
