This feud between John Wall and Marcin Gortat is starting to escalate
John Wall and Marcin Gortat are now engaged in a back and forth that’s probably going to become a distraction, if it isn’t already.
John Wall and Marcin Gortat became engaged in a war of words this past Tuesday (Feb. 6). The Wizards, until Tuesday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, were winners of five-straight, all in the absence of Wall. Wall will be out until at least mid-March nursing a knee injury. But since Wall’s absence, two Wizard players have made subtle jabs at the real impact of Wall’s injury. First, Bradley Beal stated this after a team win versus the Toronto Raptors on Feb. 1:
"“Everybody eats,” Bradley Beal said. “That’s our motto when we move the ball.”"
Next, what sparked the entire issue between Wall and Gortat was Gortat’s tweet after that same game.

This sparked ire from Wall, who is the team’s starting point guard and leader in assists (9.3 per game). Wall spoke with NBC Sports Washington, addressing Gortat’s tweet.
Via Washington Post.
"That was funny to me. That’s a joke. If you want to say team win and put it in exclamation points or everybody eats and all that. I’m one of the top point guards that passes the ball more than anybody. I hear a lot of times I pass too much sometimes,” Wall told NBC Sports Washington during his first interview of the circuit. “I know what I do for my team, I know what I bring every night. Like I said, if any guys have a problem with me they can talk to me face to face as a man. And if you can’t do that then I lose a lot of respect for you.”"
Gortat caught wind of what Wall said, and immediately responded.
Next: Josh McDaniels made the right move.
With everything said, it’s foolish for Wall to think that the team is all-around better without him.
