What’s new: Switching teams to the brand new StarCom Racing.

We’ll be the first to admit that Earnhardt is out of place with the rest of the drivers on this list, having never recorded even a single top-10 finish at the Cup Series level. He’s notable because he’s a member of a royal racing family.

That said, it’s hard not to pull for him. Things were looking up for Earnhardt when his No. 33 team landed Hulu as a sponsor last season, and he seemed excited about 2018. Then Circle Sport and The Motorsports Group dissolved their alliance and effectively dissolved Earnhardt’s team in December, leaving him with no ride.

He’s since bounced back and will be at Daytona with newcomers StarCom Racing. Earnhardt is a hard-working, likable guy, and one that we’d like to see have a breakthrough finish or two in 2018.
