2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
Musa is a perfect Jazz player, and it’s not just because he would add one more national heritage on the checklist of Utah’s worldly organization.
Without Gordon Hayward, scoring points has been a difficult task for the Jazz (outside of the last two weeks when they are suddenly the best offense in the league). Rodney Hood and Alec Burks have not lived up to expectation on the wing, and ideally higher-usage players like those two are moved soon to make space for Donovan Mitchell.
Musa, then, eventually slides into a very comfortable role as a spot-up shooter and microwave bench scorer. The Jazz don’t feature one guy in the typical way other teams put a spotlight on their best scorer. The ball finds open space rather than forceful players. Musa has learned to find his spots on a European team that does not feed him in the post or allow him to run pick-and-roll.
He could be a valuable player in the NBA, and an important young scorer for Utah.
