2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
Here is a list of the Kings’ four most-played bigs this season, in order of minutes played: Willie Cauley-Stein, Zach Randolph, Kosta Koufos and Skal Labissiere. They are actively shopping at least two of those guys, and the other (Randolph) is on a deal that will end after next season. They might have a lot of bigs, but that won’t be true for long. And none of them are worth holding out for.
Which brings us to Deandre Ayton.
Ayton is a monster — several times more gifted and productive, even relative to his NCAA competition, than any big man on Sacramento’s roster. Arizona’s offense, which is already the No. 8 offense in the country, is somehow 14 points better per 100 possessions when Ayton plays. He is scoring 20 points per game on 63 percent shooting from the field, despite a decent diet of jumpers and heavy attention from opposing teams.
No one in the country can stop him. Defense, motor and versatility are all questions for him, but not questions Sacramento needs to worry about asking.
