2018 NBA Mock Draft: Mohamed Bamba could be the Suns’ last building block
If you haven’t loved the look of Dennis Schroeder in Atlanta — dominating the ball and making inefficient plays — you would love Shamet in his place.
The junior has nearly three assists for every turnover he’s lost this season, launching into the stratosphere as a play-maker for the No. 15 offense in the country. On top of that, he’s making 45 percent of his 3s, lofting nearly six per game. He’s smooth, skilled and patient in a way that leads his team to victory more often than not. Sounds like a Hawk to me.
His statistics are unimpeachable, getting better each season until the boiling point this year. Shamet built himself into a draft prospect, bit by bit.
Perhaps he’s undersized or not as athletic as you would hope, but coach Mike Budenholzer has made a career out of turning second guesses into studs. Shamet would be a solid addition the Hawks’ rebuild.
