2. Tyler Eifert

Like is the case with Bradford, it has been injuries holding back this former first round pick. When healthy, Eifert is a force and is consistently productive. He has only played in 39 games over his five NFL seasons. Denver’s team doctors would have to give Eifert a long look before signing him most likely to a prove-it type of contract, but this guy can be a difference maker.

Denver has Jake Butt waiting in the wings, but this offense has not gotten production from the tight end position for far too long. Without much of a third wide receiver, Eifert would immediately give Denver’s new quarterback (presumably) a much-needed third option.

The Broncos could also use a wide receiver, but considering the age of Thomas and Sanders, maybe they should look to add youthful upside at that position while adding a veteran at tight end. There is also hope for Carlos Henderson, who missed his entire rookie season with a thumb injury.

Eifert would be the first quality tight end the Broncos have had since Julius Thomas left town a few years ago. Regardless of who the new man under center is, they need a security blanket in a division with ample elite corners on the outside.
