High Salary PG

Steph Curry, GS vs PHO ($9,900): If you don’t trust Curry, I can’t say I blame you. He’s missed value in six straight and he’s in one of the worst shooting slumps I’ve ever seen for a player of his caliber. But, allow me to offer a counterpoint. The Suns. This is the worst defense in the league. Curry is going to get hot again in one of these games and you can’t afford to be out on the two-time MVP when that happens. He’s good for at least 40 fantasy points, which would still be under value, but is 40 guaranteed fantasy points with a chance that he gets hot and runs his number up to 50 fantasy points. ***

Lou Williams, LAC at BKN ($7,600): Williams has been over value in his last two and seems a bit rejuvenated with this new contract and no trade rumors. The Nets are 10th against point guards in their last 15 games, but their overall defense is 23rd in the league. Williams needs 34.2 fantasy points to reach value on Monday. That number should be no problem given his scoring and playmaking ability. He should be over 40 fantasy points given the matchup. *****

Elfrid Payton, PHO at GS ($7,100): Payton looked good in his Phoenix debut against the Nuggets on Saturday, contributing 38.5 fantasy points. Devin Booker remains questionable with a hip injury. If he’s unable to play, Payton should continue to see big minutes at the point guard position. Even if Booker returns, there is a good chance that Payton remains in the starting lineup and logs 30-plus minutes. The Warriors defense is still in a mid-season lull, which means the Suns should be able to put a decent run on them, even if it’s in defeat. ****
