Adding Fuller was an excellent acquisition for this organization, but Kansas City prefers to play with a lot of defensive backs on the field and can put a lot of stress on their cornerbacks overall. Plus, while Fuller may turn into an excellent cover man opposite Marcus Peters, he has proven in his short career to best suited to operate as a slot cornerback. Revis is gone and Philip Gaines’ contract is also expiring.

Steven Nelson is still in the mix, but the Chiefs could use a cornerback with Amukamara’s size. Cornerbacks are expensive to add on the open market, but the soon to be 29-year-old Amukamara has been on three teams over the past three seasons and might join his fourth squad in four years at a somewhat reasonable rate.

Injuries have plagued Amukamara and he will give up some big plays, but he could also act as a positive role model to Peters and Fuller. Amukamara is at his best playing man coverage, but this former first-round pick doesn’t have a huge glaring weakness to his game.
