1. Bennie Logan

The Chiefs don’t have a ton to spend; so don’t expect them to land a real high-end free agent this year. But keeping their own should be a priority when it comes to Logan. Kansas City’s run defense was a massive problem last year and really has been for a few seasons now, but don’t blame Logan for that vulnerability.

Logan doesn’t have the massive girth of someone like Dontari Poe, who he replaced, but he still holds the point of attack well and can handle the double team. But what stands out about Logan as a run defender is his athletic ability and range. For a big man, Logan covers a lot of ground as a pursuit player and certainly isn’t just confined to a phone booth. He is also a very good tackler. Kansas City’s front seven’s overall athleticism has left something to be desired so keeping Logan in tow would make a lot of sense.

The problem is — and what could keep Logan’s price tag down and work in the Chiefs’ favor — is that Logan doesn’t offer all that much as a pass-rusher. This is why he wasn’t such a great fit in the Eagles attacking 4-3 scheme and ended up in Kansas City in the first place.
