2. Nate Solder

Sacks given up – 35, tied for 18th in NFL

Rushing yards per game – 118.1 yards, 10th in NFL

Pro Football Focus grade – 75.7, Average rating

One of the benefits of playing for the Patriots(aside from the wins that pile up and the two rings that Nate Solder has) is the rest of the league will always view you as a good player if you’re remotely competent. The stalwart New England offensive lineman is hitting the market at a pretty good time coming off consecutive Super Bowl appearances. The Patriots cannot take the route of franchise tagging Solder as per the terms of his contract so unless they give him an extension, he will certainly have plenty of options.

Solder has been very reliable throughout his career and will get the Patriot bump in the market. He was part of a line that played pretty well this past season as evidenced by the team finishing top 10 in rushing yards and quarterback Tom Brady led the NFL in passing yards. Those things don’t happen with a poor offensive line and Solder held up his end of the bargain.

Even though the Pro Football Focus grade isn’t the best, even average tackles are always in need in the NFL. New England will likely do their best to keep Solder in the fold. Brady isn’t getting any younger and any injury to him could derail the Patriots in their quest for one more championship.
