The Kings are back. After winning the cup in 2012 and 2014 the Kings had some quiet years. A new coach and a new general manager have the Kings back on track for a deep playoff run. Anze Kopitar, Tyler Toffoli, and Tanner Pearson have been providing the bulk of the offense for the Kings. Dustin Brown has revitalized his career and is putting together a strong season. Veteran goal scorer Jeff Carter is due to return to the lineup soon after missing most of the season with a knee injury. The Kings don’t need major help in their forwards’ group, but they would like to add some help on defense.

The Kings will be one of the teams that are rumored to be in on defenseman Mike Green from the Detroit Red Wings. Mike Green can add some offense to the Kings blue line. The Kings already have Drew Doughty and Alec Martinez who can both drive the game offensively. By adding a third piece to that means that the Kings can roll three pairings that will provide offense. This would also help defenseman like Paul Ladue and Christian Folin to slide into roles where they can play more managed minutes and see more favorable matchups.
