2018 NFL mock draft: Saquon Barkley heads to Giants
By Brad Weiss
The Miami Dolphins surprised a lot of people when they made it to the playoffs two seasons ago as a Wild Card team. Heading into last season, the hopes were high that they would get back to the postseason, and maybe even win a game. However, starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill was injured during the summer, and the addition of Jay Cutler as the new starter did little to help this team win games.
It was not all bad, as running back Kenyon Drake looks to be a legitimate star at the position. If the team wants to continue his growth at the position, they need to get better up front, though mostly in between the tackles. Notre Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson may be the best offensive lineman in this draft class, and he would be a nice fit in the middle of the Dolphins young offensive line.
Tannehill is expected to be back healthy next season, and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil is developing into a solid player. If this Dolphins team can continue to get better up front on both sides of the ball, they will be a team to reckon with for many years. Head coach Adam Gase is a rising star in the league, and while the New England Patriots dominate the division, there is no reason why the Dolphins cannot be a Wild Card team in 2018.
