UCLA. Josh Rosen. 6. player. 30. . Quarterback

The 2017 New York Jets were supposed to be picking in the top-3, as they looked to be making moves to finish with one of the worst records in football. The quarterback position for this franchise has been a joke for quite some time, and Jets fans certainly deserve to have a reliable person under center for once. Veteran Josh McCown played very well last season, putting up a career-year, but he is not the future at the position by any means.

As the Jets look towards the 2018 NFL Draft, their pick will be dependent on what they do via free agency prior to selecting at No. 6. There are a bunch of big-name free agent arms out there, including Kirk Cousins and Drew Brees. The likelihood is that neither will be headed to the Big Apple, which makes Josh Rosen a very realistic play at sixth overall in April.

Some mock drafts have Rosen going first overall, including a bunch of old ones from yours truly, but if he does fall to six, the Jets make sense. He has the moxie to play on the biggest stage in sports, and certainly has the arm to be a dominant player in the league. The Jets need to draft a quarterback high and really try to develop them, as the experiments with Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty have borne very little fruit up until this point in time.
