Los Angeles Chargers free agency 2018: Top 5 targets
1. Weston Richburg
This would be a great move for the Chargers as their top and priciest free agent signing. Center has been a problem area for this team for too long and we all know how a high-quality starting center can be a stabilizing force for the entire front five. The Giants really can’t afford to lose Richburg, but he won’t be franchised and should see the open market, which makes Richburg fair game to the entire league. Plus, the Giants might prioritize bringing back Justin Pugh before Richburg.
The Chargers should be aggressive in their pursuit of Richburg. Spencer Pulley and Kenny Wiggins played more offensive snaps than any other Chargers player last season, including Philip Rivers. That can’t happen again. It should be noted though that this looks like a draft class with a few high quality prospects at the center position.

Considered a better pass protector than run blocker, Richburg does have a nasty streak that might be infectious to young guys like Lamp and Feeney. He is a little undersized, but moves well for his size. Richburg’s 2017 season was cut short due to injury, which might just work in Los Angeles’ favor while trying to sign the anchor of their offensive line.
