Real Betis are currently eighth in the league table and only three points off the last European spot. They have won two of their last three matches with a 1-0 win over Deportivo and 3-2 win over Villareal in their last two games.
Real Betis pulled off one of the shock victories of the season when they faced off against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu back in September. A Tony Sanabria goal in the fourth-minute of stoppage time gave his team a surreal 1-0 victory.
Sanabria is the top goal scorer for the club this season, tied with Sergio Leon as the two have seven goals apiece. The squad features a good mix of youth and experience as Joaquin, Andres Guardado, Antonio Barragan, and Javi Garcia have helped carry Sanabria, Leon, and former Barcelona player Cristian Tello.
Real Madrid are coming off a midweek Champions League victory over Paris-Saint Germain, who they beat 3-1 thanks to two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo. The Champions League is the last competition the club have a shot at winning this season as they were eliminated from the Copa Del Rey and would be 14 points off La Liga leaders Barcelona even if they win this weekend.
Victory is still important for the club, as a loss would put them only five-points ahead of Villareal for the last Champions League spot. The thought of Real Madrid missing the Champions League is beyond comprehension.
