The Pistons have now lost 11 of their last 12 against the Pelicans, dropping their latest game 118-103 on Monday. Andre Drummond had 13 points and 21 rebounds, but they couldn’t get the job done defensively against a team that seems to be picking up some of the pieces after DeMarcus Cousins’ Achilles injury. The Pistons snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against the Hawks on Valentines Day, nearly coughing up a huge second half lead. “We gave our bench a 30-point lead, and they didn’t even try at either end of the floor,” Stan Van Gundy said. “We should have been able to shut down our starters, but we had to bring them back, and they didn’t bring anything either.” The Pistons did have seven players finish with double digit points, but poor execution down the stretch meant they had to bring their starters back in the game.
