NBA Power Rankings: All-Star shots, passes, dunks, and games
By Daniel Lewis
Orlando wasn’t able to pick up a win this week, starting things off with a 105-101 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The tank was strong, with Zach LaVine easily stealing an inbounds pass in the final minute before easily finishing a dunk to give the Bulls the lead. Mario Hezonja missed a 3-pointer on the next possession, and then LaVine iced the game from the free throw line. The Magic couldn’t pull out a win down the stretch against the Hornets, losing 104-102. They had a 97-96 lead with under 90 seconds to go, but gave up 3-pointers to Kemba Walker and Nic Batum, and that was too much for them to overcome. Hezonja had 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Evan Fournier had 13 points – but zero in the second half. They missed 17 of their last 21 shots, the kind of shooting performance that deserves a loss.
