CM Punk hilariously trolls fans that he’s ‘ALL IN’ on Twitter

CM Punk trolled wrestling fans around the globe on Twitter today with a status answering the question if he’s ‘ALL IN’?
Rumors have been swirling that CM Punk will attend the Bullet Club and the Elite’s upcoming ‘ALL IN’ wrestling event in Chicago on Sept. 1. Talents currently announced for the event include the Elite’s Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Stephen Amell (Green Arrow), Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and Tessa Blanchard. Drop everything you’re doing right now wrestling fans because CM Punk has revealed that he’s in! In with the Chicago Cubs, that is.
Punk started off with the first of two tweets telling fans, “Recently, a lot of people have been asking me if I’m ‘in'”, getting fans riled up in complete wrestling markdom madness. Could it be true? Would CM Punk attend a wrestling event (non-podcast) for the first time since his WWE departure back in 2014?
Nah, Punk then casually ended hopes with a second trolling tweet “You know I’m in. #EverbodyIn #cubs @cubs”
Legendary trolling by Punk that will go down in Twitter history by tomorrow morning. Let’s rewind to how the hype built to a fever pitch on Punk arriving or even wrestling at the ‘ALL IN’ event. The rumor started heating up after a Twitter interaction between the Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson and CM Punk where Jackson said they should run a marathon together in September. Punk’s reply about doing a half one in September made every wrestling mark go into a complete frenzy despite its joking nature.
Now, could this all be a subtle hint similar to Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega’s initial Twitter interaction? Perhaps, as it’s obviously a successful way to build up hype around an event in the modern era. However, this could also be a false TitanTron signature theme song tease with no wrestler walking out on the ramp of the modern era too. We’re just saying, it worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s buildup for Wrestle Kingdom 12. Kenny Omega is involved in the ‘ALL IN’ event, so there’s still a chance.
Whether the chance is real or like Jim Carrey’s iconic scene in Dumb & Dumber is hard to say. It’s certainly halved after today’s comedy but hey, a masterful troll is always worth it. Kudos to CM Punk.
