1. Baltimore Orioles

The power-packed lineup of the Baltimore Orioles skews heavily right-handed. First baseman Chris Davis is the only full-time lefty bat on the roster as platoon outfielder Seth Smith has moved on after a lone season in Charm City. Always prepared to pounce on a good bargain, this one has the Orioles name written all over it.

To be clear, Corey Dickerson is not exactly what the Orioles need, but they’ll find a way to squeeze a square peg into a round hole better than any other team in the league. Dickerson can’t field, has a poor arm and swings at just about everything within a bat length of the plate. Dan Duquette is salivating.

Signing Dickerson — assuming no one steps up to trade for him — is a perfect low-risk move for the Orioles. Unless there’s a sense that Carlos Gonzalez can be had for cheaper, Dickerson is the best option left on the market that fits the type of lineup the Orioles run out most nights.

Offensively, Dickerson fits well for the Orioles, and that seems to be more than enough justification for a front office that has accepted Trey Mancini and Mark Trumbo as corner outfielders. With Joey Rickard, Craig Gentry and Alex Presley in camp, the Orioles have options to man left or right field in the latter innings without sacrificing at the plate or rushing top prospect Austin Hays up to the big leagues before he’s ready.
