Round 6 – Pick 182

Justin Jones, DT, North Carolina State

Jones played next to Bradley Chubb, so it’s impossible to say exactly how much he benefitted from that situation. Still, Jones is a big body at 6-foot-2 and 311 pounds, giving him the versatility to play both as a 4-3 defensive tackle and 3-4 defensive end.  In Kansas City, it would be the latter.

Round 7 – Pick 206

Marcell Frazier, EDGE, Missouri

After drafting a local kid in Lawrence with their second-round pick, the Chiefs go back to the well, but this time with the other end of the Border War. Frazier notched seven sacks as a senior and could go earlier than this, but it’s possible Kansas City gets a steal. Frazier, at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, would be an ideal size for Sutton’s 3-4 scheme.

Round 7 – Pick 214

Keke Coutee, WR, Texas Tech

Coutee goes here for a very simple reason; Patrick Mahomes. The two spent two seasons on the field together for the Red Raiders, and beautiful music was made. In 2016, Coutee caught 55 passes for 890 yards and five touchdowns, before exploding last fall for 93 catches, 1,429 yards and 10 touchdowns.

With those numbers, one would think Coutee would go higher. However, it has to be factored in that Texas Tech almost exclusively throws the ball in its Air Raid system, and the 21-year-old is diminutive at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds.
