Philadelphia Eagles free agency 2018: Top 5 targets

1. Patrick Robinson

Quality cornerbacks on the open market get paid. Robinson is coming off his best season of this career, but does almost all his work from the slot. Slot cornerbacks are certainly not getting paid like outside guys, but the NFL has realized their immense value.

Philadelphia also used two early draft picks a year ago on cornerbacks. They selected Sidney Jones in the second round and Rasul Douglass in Round 3. Philadelphia has Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills returning as starters, although the highly talented Jones could go past both in no time. But who is the slot corner of these four? It certainly isn’t the king-sized Douglass.

Ideally, it would be great to bring back Robinson and plug him right back into his role from this past season, but that might be asking a little too much considering how little Philadelphia has to spend and Robinson is 30-years-old and wasn’t nearly as effective before 2017.
