60. . CB. LSU. Donte Jackson. 30. player

The Vikings fell short of playing for a Super Bowl on their home turf but still have one of the brightest outlooks for any team in the NFC. They’ll need to decide on one of their fifteen (approximately) quarterbacks, but in the meantime, they add LSU speedster Donte Jackson with the 30th overall pick in the first round.

Jackson has potentially the best speed of any player in the draft and already has his sights set on breaking John Ross’ 40-yard dash record from last year’s Combine. It’s one thing to aim high, but another when many feel that the benchmark is entirely attainable for Jackson.

Jackson has below average size (5-foot-11, 176 pounds) but as they say, you can’t teach speed, and he has plenty to go around. That speed allows him to play inside or out and can make up for his lack of physicality at the line of scrimmage.

The Vikings know that continuing to add talent on the defensive side of the ball will only help whatever quarterback is under center for 2018 and Jackson has the rare athletic traits that could make him an immediate contributor from day one. Adding Jackson to an already-talented Minnesota secondary will mean that once again, the Vikings are legitimate title contenders in the NFC heading in to 2018.
