2. Denver Broncos

A “sub-optimal” internal assessment of their quarterback play after a season that ended with a win in Super Bowl 50 reached a new low for the Denver Broncos last season. Trevor Siemian (10 starts), Brock Osweiler (four starts) and Paxton Lynch (two starts) combined for 3,668 yards, 19 touchdowns, 22 interceptions and a completion percentage shy of 59 percent.

So Denver will absolutely be in the quarterback market this offseason, via free agency, the draft (with the No. 5 pick?) or both. A big move for Kirk Cousins is possible, in a win-now window while their defense is still very good. But going with a veteran bridge option, while swapping in someone else for Lynch as the possible quarterback of the future, is equally likely.

That’s where Keenum would come into play, and Matt Miller of Bleacher Report has reported the Broncos “like” him. Denver also reportedly discussed a trade for Keenum with the Rams during the 2016 preseason, so John Elway’s interest goes back a bit longer.

There are some similarities between the Vikings and the Broncos, most notably a good defense and two capable wide receivers (assuming Denver keeps Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders this offseason). If there’s a place Keenum could come close to replicating his 2017 campaign, it may be Denver.
