FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – February 23, 2018
High Value SG
Gary Harris, DEN vs SA ($6,000): Harris was over value in the two games prior to the break, including a 25.5 fantasy point game against the Spurs on Feb. 13. That number would put him just over value on Friday as he needs 23.6 fantasy points to reach value in this contest. The Nuggets offense has clicked as of late and they’re simply a better team at home. Harris gets plenty of good looks in the offense and has been a consistent play all season, hitting value in 72 percent of games. Expect him to be over 25 fantasy points once again in this contest. ****
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, LAL vs DAL ($5,700): Lonzo Ball is expected back, but he’s likely to cut into the value of Josh Hart and Isaiah Thomas, not Caldwell-Pope, who was playing fantastic prior to the All-Star break. He’s been nine-plus fantasy points over value in four straight games, including a 36.2 fantasy point effort against the Mavericks on Feb. 10. He needs 22.4 fantasy points to reach value on Friday. Caldwell-Pope’s assist numbers may go down, but his scoring numbers should be fine and he’ll contribute enough rebounds to put himself over value. ***
Wesley Matthews, DAL at LAL ($5,500): The Lakers are second against the position in their last 15 games. Matthews is averaging 22.7 fantasy points in two games against the Lakers this season. He needs 21.6 fantasy points to reach value on Friday. Your value shooting guards are a hodgepodge of inconsistencies on Friday, so this is definitely the position to grab two higher salary guys, saving money elsewhere. The matchup isn’t great on paper, but Matthews is a solid enough contributor who should be around value. ***
