The Eagles have some of the best running back depth in the league but with LeGarrette Blount’s impending free agency, the team may be in the market for a player like Notre Dame’s Josh Adams come draft time.

Adams is as physically imposing as they come for a running back (6-foot-2 and 220 pounds) and uses power as his main calling card. He rushed for 1,430 yards and nine touchdowns in his final season in South Bend and will likely hear his name called some time on Day 3.

Adams’ speed is probably a bit underrated but he’s still best suited for a downhill, between-the-tackles running style. With Jay Ajayi already in the fold, Adams could carve out a nice role for himself in Philadelphia in short-yardage situations.

The Eagles like loading up on front seven players in the later rounds of the draft and Ohio State’s Tyquan Lewis is one name who the team could look at near the end of the fifth.

Lewis (6-foot-4 and 265 pounds) has been one of the Buckeyes’ most consistent defensive players, tallying at least seven sacks in each of the last three seasons. He’s got experience lining up inside and outside and displays nice hand usage and plays with good strength.

With Ohio State’s defensive line constantly churning out NFL talent, Lewis may be coming in a bit under the radar but would be a nice situational pass rusher for Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz to have at his disposal.
