Patrick Robinson provided a much-needed boost to the Eagles secondary in 2017 but is entering free agency following his age 30 season. This means that Philadelphia could look for a cornerback in what is a pretty deep class and in the sixth round, they pick up former Oregon standout Arrion Springs.

Springs (5-foot-11 and 205 pounds) was a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school and was clocked in the 40-yard dash at 4.44 seconds. Though he only came away with two interception in his four-year career with the Ducks, he plays with great instincts and knows just when to throw up his hands in order to compete at the catch point. Springs tallied 12+ pass breakups in each of his final three seasons at Oregon and excels at tracking the ball in the air.

While he’s not much of a physical press corner, Springs has experience lining up inside, outside, and at safety, which means his versatility will be useful at the next level as a rotational and special teams contributor for Philadelphia. If the Eagles feel like his instincts will lead to more interceptions in the NFL than in college, he could become a real steal at the end of the sixth round.
