High Value PG

J.J. Barea, DAL vs IND ($5,900): Barea has been great since moving to the starting lineup, averaging 32.9 fantasy points in five games. He needs 27.3 fantasy points to reach value on Monday. He didn’t perform well against the Pacers on Dec. 27, collecting just 15.5 fantasy points in that contest. Expect a bounce back game from him due to his recent opportunities. Dennis Smith Jr. has been off since the All-Star break and Barea has been there to pick up the slack. Even if Smith Jr. looks more like himself, Barea will be over value. ****

De’Aaron Fox, SAC vs MIN ($5,700): Fox missed value against the Lakers, posting 25.75 fantasy points in that contest. He had been battling pink eye leading up to the game and isn’t reasonable to think that he wasn’t 100 percent in that contest due to the potential antibiotics he was on. Expect him to return to form against a Minnesota team that ranks 22nd against point guards in their last 15 games. He should push 30 fantasy points in this one. ****

Trey Burke, NY vs GS ($4,600): Burke has been over 40 fantasy points in his last two games. His hot streak could end at any time, which is why he’s more of a risk than teammate Emmanuel Mudiay. Mudiay is the starter and is guaranteed to play a certain amount of minutes. Burke won’t play those minutes unless he’s scoring the way he has in his last two games. Mudiay is the more reliable play based on opportunities, but Burke’s last two games have been too good to ignore. He needs 21.3 fantasy points to reach value. If he plays at least 20 minutes, he’ll be over that number. But proceed with caution. ***
