NBA games of the week: Wizards enter the gauntlet
By Chazz Scogna
Tuesday, Feb. 27: Washington at Milwaukee, 8:00 p.m. ET
The Bucks are the first of four games this week, all of which against playoff teams. The silver lining is the Wizards are home for three of the them.
The Bucks are 2-1 against the Wiz this season, but haven’t played since Wall’s injury on Jan. 25. In fact, the last time they played, Matthew Dellavedova clotheslined Bradley Beal in the most Delly sort of defense that no one other than Zaza Pachulia can appreciate. (Hold that thought.)
Over the last 11 games, both teams are 8-3. The Bucks are sixth in net rating over that stretch; the Wizards are eighth. Both have flourished sans something. The Bucks fired Jason Kidd on Jan. 22 and have reeled off nine in 12. The Wizards lost Wall and have done the same thing, including two streaks of at least four wins in a row.
Though the bottom of the NBA is garnering a ton of attention for its inability to produce any wins, the play of second-tier teams like Washington and Milwaukee is exciting. Sadly this time Delly is out, so perhaps we won’t get a Wizards vs. everybody game of beef.
