9. Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M

Why he’s on this list

Kirk walked onto campus in College Station and immediately started torching the SEC. The best athletes at LSU, Alabama, Florida and the rest of the conference couldn’t stop, coral, or catch him.

He was not only a great receiver, but an explosive return man.

But at 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Kirk has to be at least one of two things: sudden or fast. Preferably he’s both (and I think he is).

That said there are questions about his speed and ability after the catch.

What he needs to do

This is easy: run fast.

If Kirk runs low 4.4s, the questions are answered. If he goes out and excels in the agility drills, that’s an even bigger plus and could help ameliorate concerns about his after-the-catch ability.

I have no such concerns about Kirk. Personally, I think he’s the best receiver in the draft and would take him over perceived top received Ridley precisely because I think he’s more dynamic after the catch (also Kirk is 2 full years younger).
