Round 4, Pick 114

Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana

I’m not ready to give up on Lance Kendricks despite a lost season, but the Packers clearly not some youth and athleticism at the position. Thomas may be raw as a former junior college player with limited experience in his two years at Indiana.

That said, he’s the ideal size/speed/strength combination with the ability to get down the seam and work the middle of the field. He’s a willing blocker albeit an inconsistent one, but the raw tools are there.

Thomas has the makings to be a complete tight end, while not giving up the athletic tools that produce quality pass catching weapons.

Round 4, Pick 133

Josh Sweat, DE, Florida State

A former No. 1 overall recruit, Sweat definitely belongs on the All-Bus Team. No one looks better than him getting off the bus at 6-foot-5 and 253 pounds.

His production hasn’t matched the hype, but he’s still just 20 years old and has his best football ahead of him. Sweat has the burst and athletic talent teams crave in an edge rusher along with the frame to add strength and bulk to his lanky frame.

Sweat can put his hand in the dirt or stand up and rush. Green Bay loves young, high-upside players with pedigree and that absolutely applies to Sweat. Some fans will be bummed it took until Pick 133 to land an edge rusher, but Sweat has the upside to be a star.
