No. 4 Seeds

13.  Wichita State (West-Los Angeles) (23-5)

14.  Michigan (Midwest-Omaha) (24-7)

15.  Tennessee (South-Atlanta) (21-7)

16.  Rhode Island (East-Boston) (23-4)

With strong weeks come great rewards. Welcome, Michigan, Wichita State, and Tennessee to the top four seed line.

You can make a legit argument that Michigan, along with Kansas and Wichita State may be playing some of the best basketball in America right now. Winners of five wins in a row, the Wolverines come in seeded 5th in the Big Ten Tournament but don’t be shocked at all if they win the Big Ten Tournament crown.

Speaking of teams who have chances to win their conference tournament, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Wichita State each play in their conference tournaments next week and that should offer some interesting seeding scenarios. If any one of the three actually do close the deal, then we will see them rise up the seed line but not too high. Three is the seed ceiling for the Vols, Shockers and Rams.

Games of note this week

Feb. 27

Tennessee at Mississippi State

The leaders of the SEC have tripped up at a high rate in the month of February, can Tennessee avoid that same fate?

Big Ten Tournament: Illinois/Iowa winner vs. Michigan

Michigan may be the most dangerous team in the Big Ten right now. Don’t be shocked if they end up winning their second straight Big Ten Tournament.

Wichita State at Central Florida

A classic trap game awaits the Shockers in Orlando.

Mar. 4

Cincinnati at Wichita State

These two played a thriller a few weeks ago, expect the same in Wichita this Sunday.
