Teddy Bridgewater rumors: 5 best fits in NFL free agency
3. Arizona Cardinals
The first two teams on this list come from the AFC, but maybe Bridgewater will want to stick around in the NFC once he starts looking at teams in this free agency period.
The Arizona Cardinals have a lot of talent for Bridgewater to work with, considering a team much like this exact roster went to the NFC Championship just a few years ago with Carson Palmer of all people under center. Ironically, that was the same postseason Bridgewater led the Vikings and nearly defeated the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round.
With David Johnson returning to the field in 2018 and Larry Fitzgerald avoiding retirement for at least one more season, the Cardinals will be looking to make a run this season. They are still loaded on defense, with big names like Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson and Chandler Jones in their lineup terrorizing offenses. Now, they just need to revamp their offense.
Bridgewater would be a solid replacement for Palmer under center, providing some experience in the huddle while still bringing some youth to the table. It’d be a good environment to jump back into a starting spot with, and it would give Bridgewater the tools to succeed immediately.
Not to mention, Bridgewater would have the chance to play in Minnesota next season as a starter with another team and potentially show his former employers exactly what they missed out on. It may not seem like it’d be a big deal for Bridgewater, but it’s an intriguing element for the former Vikings quarterback to mull over.
