Teddy Bridgewater rumors: 5 best fits in NFL free agency
2. New Orleans Saints
If Bridgewater does indeed want to stay in the NFC, but doesn’t want to live out on the West Coast, the team on the wrong end of the Minneapolis Miracle could be an option for him to consider for 2018.
The New Orleans Saints may not seem like the right fit for Bridgewater, considering Drew Brees has long been the starting quarterback down in Louisiana, but hear me out. The Saints are in desperate need of a rebuild, with Brees’ career on the tail end as he enters free agency at 39 years old. They could use some youth under center, and Bridgewater, at just 25 years old, would provide just that.
The team has some young stars in the making with names like Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, and Bridgewater could help to ring in a new era in New Orleans. It’d save the team some serious money in free agency, unless Brees took a discount for the team that’s kept him around so long, and they could in turn grab some other talent to improve elsewhere.
And, just in case Saints fans are still have a bit of a sour taste in their mouth from their last game of the 2017 season, just remember that Bridgewater was sitting on the bench inactive for that miracle at the hands of Case Keenum. If anything, he’d love the chance to go up against the man that took the starting job from the man that took it away from Bridgewater (man, that was confusing).
