1. New York Jets

Last, but certainly not least, the New York Jets come in at the top spot for a potential Teddy Bridgewater landing spot.

Somehow, the Jets seemed to be tied to every single quarterback available in either the NFL Draft or in free agency this offseason, and it’s incredibly justified. Their search for their next franchise quarterback has gone just about as poorly as the Browns has over the last few years, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be getting any better soon with the current crop of quarterbacks in this draft class.

If the Jets want to draft a guy like Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold with the sixth-overall pick in the draft, that’s fine. If they want to spend big bucks to bring a guy like Kirk Cousins into their world to try and compete with the New England Patriots or Buffalo Bills in 2018, that’s okay, too. However, why not save some money and pick up Bridgewater on a cheaper contract?

Bridgewater would provide instant experience that Allen, Mayfield and Darnold couldn’t match, and would save the Jets the potential financial trouble of going all-in on a guy like Cousins. That would give them the chance to revamp their roster elsewhere, and fix the multitude of problems they’re currently facing with their lineup.

The former Vikings quarterback wouldn’t exactly be heading to a winning environment in his travels to the Big Apple, and he’d have to find a way to beat Tom Brady and the Patriots twice in 2018 to make a name for himself, but the Jets provide an interesting fit for Bridgewater for the upcoming season.
