2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets fly high with Baker Mayfield
By Brad Weiss
After another disappointing season, it appeared likely that the Cincinnati Bengals were going to part ways with head coach Marvin Lewis. Lewis has yet to win a single playoff game as the team’s head coach, but instead of letting him go, they decided to extend him this offseason. The veteran coach is apparently going to be around for the rebuild in Cincy, though they should be much better next season.
Quarterback Andy Dalton is back, and he has his one of the better wide receivers in football in A.J. Green at his disposal. Rookie running back Joe Mixon ran well at times during his first season in the league, and the Bengals did finish the year strong. Tight end Tyler Eifert is likely gone, as he is going to test free agency, but getting better up front has to be the priority come draft night.
One area of need is at offensive tackle, and they should be able to get a player like Mike McGlinchey this early in round one. McGlinchey is the best tackle in this draft class, and would have likely been a first round pick last year. If the Bengals really want to turn this thing around, they have to get better up front on both sides of the ball, and McGlinchey helps them do just that.
