2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets fly high with Baker Mayfield
By Brad Weiss
The Los Angeles Rams came out of nowhere to take over the NFC West this past season, thanks to some great play from their second-year quarterback. Jared Goff took a major step forward in his development in 2017, as he teamed very well with first-year head coach Sean McVay. McVay was the youngest head coach in the NFL this past season, and showed himself to be one of the best, leading the Rams back to the playoffs.
With the development of Goff, the Rams appear to be on the right track. On the defensive side of the ball, this team is going to need some help at cornerback, especially if Trumaine Johnson leaves via free agency. One player who could slide into a top role in the defensive backfield is Josh Jackson, who led the FBS in interceptions last season as a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Jackson is a special player, and has incredible hands for a defensive back. He also has tremendous speed, enabling him to make up ground when he makes mistakes. He proved himself to be quite the ball hawk during his time with the Hawkeyes, and could wind up being an elite player at the next level. The Rams could be a contender in the division for years to come, and Jackson would help their secondary become a strength.
