Michigan. Maurice Hurst. 26. player. 44. . Defensive Tackle

At the beginning of the 2017 NFL season, it looked like the Atlanta Falcons were going to play their way out of playoff contention. Coming off a horrible loss in the Super Bowl, the Falcons struggled to get things going on both sides of the ball, though they righted the ship later on. As the season wore on, the team just got better, and by the time the regular season ended, the Falcons found themselves holding one of the Wild Card spots.

When it comes to this team heading into next year, they have to get better up front on defense. The defensive tackle position needs to be addressed, as they have some talented edge rushers on the roster. One player who could help them get better clogging up the middle is Maurice Hurst, who is a tremendous physical specimen from the University of Michigan.

Not only is Hurst a big body, but he has the speed to track down running backs. The NFC South is going to be one of the better offensive divisions in football next season, so the Falcons need to make sure they make their defense a focus this offseason. Hurst would be a nice start, and it would make the interior of the Falcons defense a strength, which is has not been for some time now.
