2018 NFL Mock Draft: Jets fly high with Baker Mayfield
By Brad Weiss
During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns swung a deal with the Houston Texans for their 2018 first round pick. Due to the fact that the Texans had one of the worst records in football last season, that pick ended up being fourth overall. With two of the first round picks in round one, new general manager John Dorsey has two shots to really improve this roster, possibly on both sides of the ball.
After taking a quarterback with the first overall pick, the Browns would be wise to go with a defensive player at No. 4. Minkah Fitzpatrick is the best defensive back this draft class has to offer, and he will definitely be picked within the first ten selections. On the Browns, he would fill a glaring hole in their defensive backfield, as he is a player who should be able to contribute right away at the next level.
Dorsey has a lot of pressure to get it right in April, as the Browns have a plethora of draft picks at their disposal. Sure, they could move this pick, but the odds are he is going to want to stockpile as much top-tier talent as he can in year one. Fitzpatrick is a special player, and with his ball-hawking abilities, the Browns should be much more improved against the pass in 2018.
