The Denver Broncos struggled mightily last season, as they really never got any consistent play from the quarterback position. The team trotted out guys like Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, and Paxton Lynch, and none of them found a way to hold on to the job. Heading into next season, the team has to make a long-term decision on this position, and they may want to address that need with the fifth overall pick in April’s draft.

The 2018 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent at the quarterback position, and there should be an elite arm available at No. 5. One name that could still be available is UCLA’s Josh Rosen, who has all the intangibles to be a solid signal-caller at the next level. John Elway is looking to find his franchise quarterback, and Rosen has the kind of moxie needed to succeed in the NFL, and has the arm talent to make all the throws.

Rosen dealt with some injuries during his time with the Bruins, although he should be 100 percent healthy heading into the NFL Scouting Combine. The Broncos still have one of the more solid defenses in the AFC, and C.J. Anderson actually ran the ball well in 2017. Adding a legitimate threat at the quarterback position could make the Broncos a playoff contender in 2018, but the organization has to get this pick right.
