High Value C

Al Horford, BOS vs CHA ($6,400): Horford has dropped below the average salary and for good reason. He’s posted just 16 fantasy points in two of his last three games. He did have 33 fantasy points against the Knicks over the weekend. The good news for Horford is that he did had 37.7 fantasy points in a Dec. 27 meeting with the Hornets. Dwight Howard is currently listed as questionable, and if he’s out, that’s good news for Horford as he can conserve his energy on both ends of the court. He has a high ceiling and the matchup is good, but proceed with caution. ***

Jonas Valanciunas, TOR at ORL ($6,400): Valanciunas had 13.5 fantasy points against the Pistons and has missed value in four straight. The Magic are 21st against the position in their last 15 games, so this is a good matchup for the Toronto center. He’s a risk, but the reward is high. He’s a guy who cane put up big numbers in the points and rebounding categories when he’s on his game. **

Jakob Poeltl, TOR at ORL ($4,400): If you’d rather save money and get someone who should be over value for Toronto, Poeltl is a better option that Valanciunas. He continues to play around 20 minutes a night and has been over value in five of his last six. A lot of his value is tied to his ability to block shots, but considering that he’s blocked at least one shot in every game since Feb. 2, there’s a good chance that he’ll contribute in that category to go along with his scoring and rebounding. He’s a low cost option who will be around 20 fantasy points. ***
