FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – March 1, 2018
High Salary PF
Ben Simmons, PHI at CLE ($9,500): Simmons was a big miss against the Heat, posting just 26.2 fantasy points in that contest. He has a great chance to bounce back on Thursday given the matchup. That said, he hasn’t been great against the Cavaliers this season, averaging 32.9 fantasy points in two contests. He needs 40.7 fantasy points to reach value on Thursday. His performances against Cleveland this season are a bit concerning and LeBron James seems to have something extra for the Sixers as they try to recruit him. The reward is there, but he’s a risk. **
Dario Saric, PHI at CLE ($7,100): Less of a risk is Dario Saric, who should have no trouble picking up points and rebounds against the Cavaliers. He’s been over value in his last two contests. He had 32.8 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Dec. 9. He continues to play well with Robert Covington struggling. He needs 30.4 fantasy points to reach value. His ceiling isn’t as high as Simmons’ but his lower salary and ability to shoot projects better against Cleveland. ***
Taj Gibson, MIN at POR ($6,400): Your high salary power forward options are limited, so Gibson makes the list despite being under the average salary. He’s been hit and miss in last five games. He missed against the Kings on Tuesday, so if you believe in the trend, he’ll be back over value in this one. He needs 27.4 fantasy points to reach value on Thursday. He hasn’t been great against the Blazers this season, averaging 20.4 fantasy points in three games. He’s a risky play, but the reward is potentially 40 fantasy points. **
