142. . G/F. Miami. Bruce Brown. 22. player

News came out this week that Brown will have his left foot re-evaluated by doctors on March 12, meaning he will miss the ACC tournament next week. How you feel about his draft position is based on what you thought of his one-and-a-half seasons at Miami.

The confusing thing about Brown is how his shooting just evaporated in his 19 games this season. Despite Miami playing well and Brown improving as a play-maker and rebounder, the sudden plummeting of his shooting efficiency is worrisome. It’s hard to play a wing who cannot shoot in the league today, and unfortunately playoff teams like Washington picking in this range will have to choose from several players with that issue, from Brown to Alkins to De’Anthony Melton later on.

For Washington, a Brown pick would accomplish two team-building goals. It would get them some extra ball-handling to make up for the times when Wall is not on the court, which is a need they try and fail to address each offseason. It would also give them another bench piece, which they desperately need to shore up this expensive team.

Brown is a question mark, but at this range, most players are. The Wizards should be looking for upside guys at this point, and Brown fits the mold.
