3. Houston Texans

Bill O’Brien and the Texans are looking to bounce back off a disappointing season filled with injuries. They possess a multitude of young talent are primed to be a dark horse playoff candidate in the AFC this season. Bringing Solder to Houston seems like the perfect fit given the offseason needs.

After trading away Duane Brown at the deadline, the Texans are inexperienced on the offensive line. Rookie Julie’n Davenport isn’t a polished product and has just four starts under his belt. While he may be the future franchise player at the position, he still has much to figure out. Solder could slot in as an immediate upgrade on the left side. He’s experienced and familiar with O’Brien’s offensive system from his time in New England.

The need for a starting tackle is a top priority for the Texans this offseason. Quarterback Deshaun Watson will be coming off an ACL tear. The offensive line gave up 54 total sacks last season and that’s asking for trouble with Watson in the pocket. There’s never been a time more important for O’Brien to make sure his prize possession stays healthy. Watson has to stay upright in the pocket this season.

The Texans can give Solder the contract he’s seeking and it’s a move that makes a ton of sense for both sides this offseason. A former Belichick product could be stealing away a top player from his old coach.
