Tom Izzo’s teams just know how to show up in March, but not many of his squads were as memorable as 2010’s which made it all the way to the Final Four before losing to Butler in heartbreaking fashion.

Heartbreak was the theme of the locker room heading into the tournament, though, as Kalin Lucas, the all-everything point guard for the Spartans, went down in the first round with a leg injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Enter, backup point guard Korie Lucious. He was a highly-touted recruit out of Milwaukee, but would he be ready for the big stage so suddenly?

It seemed that way as he led the Spartans to the Final Four, but no shot of his was bigger than the buzzer-beater against Maryland in the round of 32 to advance to the Sweet 16.

Shout out to Delvon Roe who ducked below the Draymond Green pass to Lucious at the last second to avoid a disastrous result. Lucious was a hero for making this shot as well as taking over almost seamlessly for Lucas in the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
