NBA games of the week: Rockets can’t lose
By Chazz Scogna
Tuesday, Mar. 6: Houston at Oklahoma City, 8:00 p.m. ET
Last week the Wizards entered the gauntlet with four games against playoff teams, including a matchup against the Warriors.
The Rockets fared a tad better in they only play three playoff teams this week, but, unlike the Wiz, who had three home games, all of Houston’s games are on the road.
The last time these two teams faced each other, Chris Paul was out with a strained groin. Since then, Houston has been relatively healthy, including over the 15-game win streak.
The Thunder have tapered off again. Over those last 15 games, they’re 7-8 and their offense and defense has slipped to about the bottom third in the league. Their defensive drop has been the story since Andre Roberson got hurt.
Since Feb. 1, the Thunder have beaten the following teams: Warriors, Grizzlies, Grizzlies, Kings, Magic, Mavericks, Suns. Since Feb. 1, the Thunder have lost to the following teams: Nuggets, Pelicans, Lakers, Lakers, Cavaliers, Warriors, Blazers. They have one quality win and can’t beat the Lakers.
It’s still a national game on the road for Houston, but if it’s one of those Rockets games, can the Thunder keep up?
