Kyle Fuller rumors: 5 best fits in NFL free agency

3. Chicago Bears
Of course, there’s a possibility Fuller doesn’t go anywhere. He could very well stay with the Bears on a long-term deal. The franchise tag is in play, especially after Fuller’s standout season. That would pay him upwards of $14-15 million a year. It’s may not be the price general manager Ryan Pace wants to pay but the Bears are going to have to reach into their pocket to keep their top cornerback.
The secondary is coming together with Adrian Amos and Eddie Jackson at secondary. If the Bears can re-sign Fuller and draft a top cornerback with the No. 8 pick, that’s a force to be reckoned with. Pairing Fuller with Denzel Ward or Josh Jackson sounds like a dangerous duo. That would make the Bears’ secondary one of the youngest and most dynamic in the league.
It’s all about continuity in the NFL and keeping Fuller accomplishes that. He would slot right back into Fangio’s defense, where he’s had success. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, right? The Bears are on the come up with head coach Matt Nagy taking over. He may not be a defensive-minded coach, but he’s already possessing a talented group on that side of the ball.
Cap space isn’t an issue with the Bears expected to have $60+ heading into the free agent period. It’d be just illogical if they don’t re-sign Fuller under these circumstances.
